Cigar City and Tequesta Takeover Delray Beach

The time has come....the barrels have arrived.....and people are ready to celebrate the kick off to American Craft Beer Week.

While the official American Craft Beer Week doesn't kick off till May 16th (more info coming), there is nothing wrong with a little pre-gaming for the party.

And by pre-gaming I mean a tap takeover of the Coffee District in Delray Beach by two of the hottest breweries in the state of Florida! Tequesta Brewing Company and Cigar City Brewery take over all 18 taps in the Coffee District tonight starting at 6pm till close....well until the kegs kick, ohh and with the lineup bellow being on draft...they will kick!

The Ferm: First and foremost BIGGGG THANKS to Master Brewer Abbott for sharing this beer with myself and several other people Monday Night. Once again the "beer family" in South Florida always surprises me with their generosity. I personally would have contemplated sitting in a dark room alone with this bottle and drinking 100% of it alone....well maybe not. I am sort-a afraid of the dark after all. Regardless, Thank You!
I was very much so looking forward to this beer since I found out that Goose Island would be releasing it only once, and the base beer is my all time favorite stout. Barrel Aged for 2 Years this thing has to be good....RIGHT?!?
And Good it was! Great....maybe, but for sure DAMN GOOD. Tons of Bourbon in the flavor...but it is not that "hot". The beer is perfectly balanced flavor wise with strong notes of the barrel treatment leading to hints of dark chocolate, vanilla, and coffee. Daily Drinker....if you were a millionaire and did not care about calories....FOR SURE. The beer was faintly carbonated which was nice...as too much carbonation would have ruined the experience.
So is this better than that bottle of 2008 Bourbon County Stout which was opened and reviewed not too long ago? No....but it is damn close. I would love to be able to snag a bottle or two of this and age it for a bit...I have a feeling this will turn out to be one of the best imperial stouts to date with age on it.

Bell's Hopslam Ale Attacks South Florida

Well beerigos it is here!

Beer release season has started.

HOPSLAM has started popping up around South Florida Bars and Stores.

Be quick about picking up this gem of a Double IPA though.  We are getting very limited supplies of the beer.

Where can you find it?  Well, most Total Wine & More stores will have it at the main desk right as you walk in, and it is limited to one 6-pack per person.

Besides Total Wine, I reccomend swinging by your local craft beer bar to see if bottles or even draft are avalable.  Last night The Coffee District started the frenzy by tapping the first keg in Palm Beach County EVER!  There is not much left so swing by and have a tasty pint of this beer.  The Funky Buddha is on deck with keg waiting....that's right!  When will they tap it?  Well, I guess we will have to wait.

Enjoy this wonderful beer fresh, it really does not age well, but be careful Mi Amigos it is 10% ABV.

A Night with Cigar City

That's right boys and girls.....do you want to meet Joey Redner from Cigar City? Do you want to try some of his fantastic beers that you could only get at the tap room in Tampa? Do you wanna hang out with me?!

Ok, well most of you are probably excited about everything but hanging out with me, and that is OK with me....cause I will be there to drink some good beer.



Where? Well Thursday (10-07-2010) The CCB Sprinter will be at the Coffee District is Downtown Delray Beach from 6:30pm till 10pm. Can't make Thursday Night? Well luckly for you the CCB Sprinter will be at Abraxas in Miami Beach on Friday Night (10-08-2010) from 6-??.



What's gonna be on tap? Well Chung from the Coffee District has confirmed Puppy's Breath, Tocobaga, and Sea Bass. Diego from Abraxus will have Puppy's Breath, Tocobaga, and White Oak Jai Alai. Something tells me these lists are not complete but just what has been confirmed.
