Fade To Black Ale
Left Hand Brewing Co.
Longmont, CO (USA)
8.0 ABV
C. Irrelevant
H. Black
N. Whoa coffee, smokey, almost like a cigarette
Dos: Mmmmmm, I love the taste of coffee and cigarettes. Lol not really, considering I don’t drink coffee, and I don’t smoke. By the way for all you sin stick hogs…..smokers are jokers. Mom taught me well. Anyway, although most people would probably hate this beer as I’m sure “The Fermentation” despises it, I actually kinda like it. It has black power (raises fist) and it leaves an insane aftertaste for the ages. It does not “Fade to Black”, it just is black from the very first pour. I love these types of beer. Just like Campbell’s soup, MmmmMmmm good. Score = 4.21
Fermentation: Well here yah go, this is why we are doing two peoples opinions. From the pour to the last sip, this was Dos’s beer all the way. As stated before, I'm not a fan stouts, and this is a stout to EVERY sense of the word. Big coffee and smokey. Almost as if Smokey the Bear was drinking a cup of coffee that was left on the burner all day. Not for me. Ill try to stay fair with the rating since im sure Left Hand did a good job with this one. Score = 3.0
Overall = 3.605

I had this at the Coffee District a few weeks ago and enjoyed it. It reminds me of Stone's 09.09.09 and I think it will be good with age.
