Cerveza Chica; The smell reminded me of dirt and was too smoky for me to get past. It definitely made me not really want to drink it, but I wasn’t as disappointed as I thought I would be. The smell of the malt seemed very heavy and caramel like so I had the idea in my head that it would taste a little like a lighter Guinness. I was happily proven wrong. It was not very heavy, and therefore fairly easy to drink. I was interested in trying this beer as we waited for some time for it to make it to Florida, but I could do without it now that I have tried it.

Ferm; Ok, Spring Seasonal offering from Magic Hat. The message under the cap said “Never tease, aim to please”. Ehh……I normally would agree with most Magic Hats but this one was just sort-a ok. It reminded me of when I was a child and I was outside playing in the park, the smell of loose dirt, dead leaves on the ground, and new ones starting to come out on the trees. This is a great representation of a “Spring” Beer. Everything screams spring from the color, getting lighter from the winter beers, to the odor of earth. The taste is pretty strong with coffee and light hints of caramel and nuts, not much though. I can say that the beer did get better with each sip, but wasn’t one that I would rush out to pick up a bunch of. Worth the try from the sampler though.
