Eduardo: This is aged in French oak wine barrels, merlot & pinot noir, for twelve months.
This had a very interesting nose.
There are definitely smoke & wine influences present. I get more sour influence from the wine then a smoke presence.
This beer reminded me of a Jolly Pumpkin beer, style wise.
Score: 4.40

The Ferm: This was an interesting beer, I heard a lot of people talking about the Smoke from the Oak series, and when I got my hands on one I was VERY EXCITED.
Sadly the beer gushed like a 3rd grade science fair volcano when I opened it. That was a let down, but it kept me on my toes.
The beer was pretty complex had some hints of Coffee, Bret Sour-ness, then followed with some dark fruits. The sourness and the coffee didnt really blend well in my opinion. Was it bad? No. Was it good? Ugghh. Was it different? Yes!
Overall a solid beer which I would drink again if I had the opportunity. If you are in the northeast see if you can get your hands on a bottle and tell me what you think!
Score: 3.99

Overall: 4.195
