Beer Drinker; Wow, Ferm. This week sure is going by fast! How about we review Goose Island Pere Jacques 2007 today? You don't speak French? Don't worry, it's not a requirement. This beer is very smooth with quite lovely fruit flavors, some pears intertwined with a little raisin. Nibbling on my half ounce, I found this beer to be on the sweet side, with some honey flavors. The alcohol and high level of carbonation really work well with the fruits and sweetness, providing a tingly sensation. I liked it and wish I had a little more to sample. Let's call this a 4.101
The Ferm; If Sierra Nevada Southern Hemisphere was Lemon this is the Fruit basket. Upon being served my thimble of a sample, Beer Drinker told me I had to speak French to understand this beer. Well par le vous francais....(Shhhhh...I had to Google that!)
This beer was very fruity and had a good balance to it. Seeing that it is a 2007 vintage, the aging probably made alcohol calm down a bit. While 8.00% really isnt that high, with a beer that is a fruity as this it would stand out. I personally got a lot of dark cherry, raisins, and caramel from the flavor of the beer. I personally would like to try a current bottle and compare a vintage bottle to see how they mature. Good Beer.
Score:3.899
Overall: 4 (dead even, no rounding!)
