El Guapo; The almighty Nugget Nectar... I had this beer last year when it wasn't so fresh and I was looking forward to trying a fresher bottle of this hyped beer thanks to the Ferm. Well, turns out it's a bit overhyped in my opinion and not so almighty. Still semi-mighty though... The nose was pretty typical of an imperial amber, hop-forward with some sweeter caramel/toasty malts making their presence known. The taste was definitely hoppy but not overly so and also not as sweet as other imperial ambers I have had. There is a nice balance in this beer that makes it pretty drinkable... Anyways nothing too exciting or mind-blowing about this beer. Just a well-made, balanced, and tasty brew. If this was available here, I would definitely pick it up as a nice change from IPA's.

The Ferm; I was looking forward to this since I got it in on a trade. I looked forward to comparing it to the other semi-hyped Hoppy Beers. Well it stood its ground. An EXTREMELY solid Amber beer with a huge hop backing to it and a nice malt balance. Although personally I would prefer less malt and more hop bitterness. Regardless, I know I say that a lot of beers are easy to drink, but this one just went down soo easy, and was really full of flavor. While I had high expectations for this beer it really did live up to the hype. I would say this is defiantly a beer that you HAVE to try.
